..because we can

while I sit here, slowly crippling myself with bad posture , I think to myself... "hmm, must get a proper computer chair one of these days". Ive looked in the past but they have either been: great but expensive (more money on the upholstery), cheap and comfortable only for 5 minutes, very bad and expensive , and comfortable (but only if you buy a filing cabinet as well!).
Anyway, I'm wanting a kick arse chair with all the adjustments and good back support (you know the deal). I am willing to pay $200 ...does anyone have any tips on where I should go to get me one?

You could get an exercise ball to sit on. Good chairs cost a lot of money I'm afraid to say...

isn't 200 enough? crikey, how much were you thinking? Ok. I suppose I could go 250.

This is $499 for the cheapest version. Maybe a bit overboard in the ergonomic department though. Maybe these are more what you are after. You could always try Officeworks. Google knows all.

i got a rather comfy computer chair for $49 at officeworks when they were having a huge f*ck off sale last year (or was it this year i cant remember). it only has a lowering and raising adjustment yet it has very nice back support for a cheap thing and is sturdy.

Thanks guys. I reckon the first chair Richard, is a bit fussy for me, but the second lot looks great. But..I would need to be in NSW. Tried the office works ones, some were good but they looked like they would break after 6 months. Thanks anyway!

i pick up one from officeworks very simular to this: http://www.officeworks.com.au/ims_docs/44/44EA483871CE013D02000000A... , but maybe a grade up, for around $150ish that has lasted about 2 years and is still going strong. On the comfort scale it rates about 3-3.5 fluffy cushions out of 5 (it's good, but it's no hammock), but it seems to keep my back in tip top condition (have had major issues with computer hunch-back pain in the past).
I don't know if its an issue in your case but i found getting a larger sceen/ second screen and a table that is at the right height made a huge difference as well.

those office works chairs have a warranty on them so if something goes wrong you can always just take it back
