Does anyone know where the ride cymbal that was in the studio has gone?

There was a dark ride cymbal in a cymbal case in the old kitchen in the recording studio. The case is still there but the cymbal was gone last time I looked a couple of days ago.

Does anyone know what happened to it?

The toy xylophone is my fault! Someone loaded it into my car at the end of a session and it's been sitting on the floor of my car ever since. My bad: I'll bring it back in the next few days sometime.

As for the golden opportunity, I know what you mean but it'd be a pity if someone had walked off with it for good. Hopefully they just wandered off with it like a doofus the way I did with the xylophone and will bring it back.

One thing I've liked about the recording studio is the way you can leave gear there until it's convenient to pick up, without worrying that someone's gonna walk off with your shit. It'd be a fucken shame if that changed, because getting gear in and out of that room is a pain at the best of times, what with shit parking, circuitous after-hours access, long corridors and alarming doors.

Anyway, hopefully it's an innocent mistake on someone's behalf and they'll return it.

ooooops. My bad. SubHum borrowed it for recording a few weeks back. I cleared it with Boz first who stressed the importance of its prompt return - advice our drummer (and myself) did not heed in full. Thanks for reminding me though, it'll be back there today. Sorry for any inconvenience dudles.

...... the cymbal that is, I've no knowledge of any other potentially missing gear.

hey cool, just good to know it was legit and not the start of a downward spiral in gear safety.

and i'll drop the xylophone back today on the way to the battlesnake gig @ pony. re which, i didn't know the other bands when gus organised the show, but i've checked them out since and i reckon a couple of them might be of interest to frequenters of this site. bird traps are all field recordings and slow tones and layers of guitar, and tape arms improvise electronica to old silent films. we're on at 11 and the door is $7, be nice to get some familiar faces along if anyone's left in melbourne at the moment. seems like everyone is somewhere else, chugging pina coladas no doubt.

also: i put in a request to dr phil that the gear in the recording studio get some maintenance over the summer. the equipment room gear gets a going-over at this time, but the recording studio mics and stands have just been getting gradually more broken in the three years i've been here at least. he says he'll get tim onto it when he's back from leave.
