the soundboard

..because we can

Hi All

I'm looking for some recordings of quiet suburban streets: Has the quiet sounds of birds (australian!) and no cars (preferably) . Don't mind the odd kid playing over the fence or a lawnmower going in the distance.
Anyone know of a good site to find something like this on the net? Looked already on freesound, internet archive and soundsnap but they all have really annoying american birds.

Cheers,
Lizzie

There are a bunch of great sound fx cds available to borrow from the RMIT Carlton Library. It's really not far from the city campus, just up Cardigan St on Level 3. Hope that helps.

Yeah - traffic's everywhere - like a New Age Plague......

There's an oval right next to where I live - also right next to a main road

There are local club footy games on Saturday mornings.
The sound effects are great if you want that weekend suburban feel.

Guys shouting in a very lazy way - dogs barking - random claps and distant lawnmowers galore but yes - cars too
-if you don't mind the chopping editing there could be something you like there?

Isn't it funny that the thing you want kinda isn't like reality at all! Will check out the library. My place is perfect for the birds and mo cars thing, but it's been way too windy to get anything of use. Thanks for all your help!
