Hey Will, hey Aidan,

I don't know stacks about it but Louis from Sound Art and Kat from your course have both had involvement with SYN FM. Haven't heard from Louis for a little while so I'm not sure how this project is coming along. They both implied it wasn't too hard to get involved though..

Hey I think this Will be awsome. I should have asked yesterday but how do we start. Michael, Aidan is a friend of mine and he and I are really keen to broadcast our own show.

I'm not a student at RMIT, but I would be really interesting in getting involved in a radio show. Where to begin?

I think it would be a really good idea to keep the content local and relevant to the local community at this stage. If you want to talk about things happening outside of Melbourne, I would suggest trying to add how it impacts the local scene. If you are interviewing international guests, hopefully they are playing or have played recently in Melbourne.

I think this would add cohesion and a kind of theme and territory to the radio show making it more relevant to the audience it will mainly reach and also giving the local scene a voice in the world.

What do you think? Personally I think I use the word local too much...!

Hey Steven, Triple R actually started as an RMIT station, there's some history here.

oh.. do I have to be under 25? I look under 25, can I sneak it?
Steven Harris Comment by Steven Harris on April 7, 2009 at 11:46am
Hey, would love to help out in any way I can, unfortunately I'm over 25, so can't participate in the training aspect. Just wondering, did RMIT ever have it's own in-house radio station in the past? In a side note, this is kind of cool in a pirate radio/war leftovers related way: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXkYmohtsSg&feature=related

Cool, so Louis is running with this one. He's done a show on SYN before and knows the ropes. The plan is to have a couple of key people (25 or under) who do the training etc, and can have the rest on as guests etc.

Richard suggested a podcast, and Kat, who also has experience with SYN, says it's set up to make podcasting easy: cool. He also suggested we start recording things like the Sound Art party performances to use as material, which is a very good idea.
