More Tracks

I just uploaded 4 more tracks to my profile.

Gorea is a mellow, hypnotic kind of tune using recorded guitar, synthesis and some no-input mixing desk all fairly processed and best listened to in headphones for effect. This was a track I wrote while getting to know Logic Pro 8 and I am pretty happy with the end result.

Rainday was the first song I ever wrote in Reason 2.5 were I programmed all the synths from scratch and used only my own drum samples. It is just your basic dance song but I still… Continue

Latest Uploads

I just uploaded 2 new tracks that are a few years old now. Drum Programming 3 came from a series of works I produced after listening to a lot of Aphex Twin and was an exercise in moving away from using pre-prepared drum loops. Every note in this song was placed individually with the mouse using Reason 2.5. I wanted to get away from the repetitive nature of electronic music yet maintain some sense of order.

Experiment 2 was written even longer ago when I still had a pc and used a piece of free s… Continue

Damaged Goods

The track "Damaged Goods" comes from a noise album I created in April 2008. It is made from effected recordings of no-input mixing desks printed, mixed and mastered in Logic Pro 8.

This track lead to a desire to create a whole noise album (also titled "Damaged Goods") that is currently undergoing a re-mastering process after some very helpful feedback from Darrin.

My influences in this work are varied and I am inspired by mentally "tuning in" to the things most people want to "tune out" and tr… Continue

There's an article in The Monthly (August 2009) which may be of interest - Waste-Makers by Juliana Engberg:

"The aesthetic of detritus is everywhere at the moment." Think it's mostly about visual stuff, by the looks. Haven't read it all yet..
