What kind of stuff are you working on?
I am developing a language on the saxophone by making modifications to the instrument that radically changes the sound of and approach to the instrument. I make reeds from many materials which transforms the reed into a sensitive and volatile sound source whose properties are ever changing. With each bell preparation and reed, the vibrations and playing techniques are altered, creating a unique dialogue between the player and the instrument.

I recently did an artist residency with Alan Lamb and Dale Gorfinkel in Dwellingup, WA. I investigated and developed ideas for using speakers as instruments to be played or automated. I used a physical feedback system and objects which interacted with the vibrations produced by the speakers and their own resonant frequency and that of the surfaces they lay on. Dale, Alan and I collaborated on instrument building ideas which culminated over the three week stay in two gallery performances, kids instrument building workshop, performance at the primary school and forest installation.

sure that's sounds good. you should definitely hear the pistols stuff, your contribution took it to a whole new level. I'm still working on some of it, even though Chris is overseas, but I'll burn you where we're up to and maybe we can catch up later in the week. What's your number?
