Re: Kontakt 6.3.0 released
Except an issue was found very fast after release that breaks some libraries (script persistence doesn't work properly with certain array type), so 6.3.1 is out now

Re: Synapse Audio OBSESSION OB-Xa Synth Coming Soon !
It actually doesn't emulate any Oberheim specifically, it's more of an "inspired by" sort of thing.

MX can sound very very warm indeed. I mean it does have the Monark filter, specifically adjusted for polyphony... There's plenty of tricks up its sleeve, but even bog-standard wavetable playback sounds so lifelike and organic, for lack of better word. Mike Daliot worked his magic in this one for sure.

Re: Korg Collection 2 with updated GUIs
"to all have usable GUIs". Slightly debatable in certain cases, because text under all knobs on MS-20 is nigh unreadable due to poor contrast. Also in MS-20 and Mono/Poly, various parts of GUIs jarringly move either on moving the mouse or cables around (MS-20, at 110% or 120% zoom levels) ...

Re: NI lays off 20% of global workforce and tease new platform [update 14 Sept]
Kontakt is not a dead end. It's company's biggest earner as enabler of most content in Komplete. It's going to be updated for newer operating systems as required. I wouldn't worry. Ultimately you can always freeze the OS, as Guy already said. Or use Windows, because it's gonna work on there for at l...

Re: Modartt / Karsten Collection (add-on for Pianoteq)
OK thanks for the info. I assume you'd probably have similar thoughts about Bohemian Violin, which has some more intelligence built in. But at least you can force it to do the arcs you want to (and actually, I find it works supremely well exactly with the simpler, more lyrical phrases... with no exc...

Responded to that on VI-C. But it's unlikely, and it's going to be support-side only, not user-side.

Re: NI to no longer allow registration of legacy products
It might work for older libraries, indeed. All you need is K5.6.6. K5.6.8 wouldn't work.
But it's basically running SC code to enable that (my understanding of it, don't trust me 100% on that one), so it's not exactly panacea to the issue at hand.
Really glad you got sorted out, Piet!

Re: NI to no longer allow registration of legacy products
All those libraries in the list have long since been sold out, so all those serials are spent already. Developers recouped years ago.

CHH V2 is not affected. It's the very first version of CHH that is affected. It seems to have been updated a number of times already.

Re: NI Mysteria vocal instrument
I would assume this would become a part of KU rather than regular Komplete, so again a higher priced tier than default one. About different models, there's ideas thrown around regarding subscription and rent-to-own, but neither of those would be replacements to perpetual licensing that NI is using n...

Considering how much went into production of this instrument, no, it's not worth $99 or $149, it IS worth the exact asking price.

Yeah prices of M1000 started going up consistently ever since Gligli made firmware modification that fixes some bugs and adds a couple of nifty features (like voice detune)...GR Baumann wrote: ↑Jan 08, 2020 8:13 am ouch.... going retro is not a cheap endeavour

Re: Korg Triton VST released
Just like with most old workstations, in fact. The whole Triton's ROM is 290 MB for thousands of samples that are usually relatively short. Different times
This doesn't matter, though, since through layering and modulation and, yes, some pretty great FX, you can get some quite stellar sounds.

Re: Orchestral Tools moves away from Kontakt!
So just for the sake of completeness... SINE can purge, which unloads the whole preload of the articulation, but it gets reloaded completely when you play the first note of that articulation. So it is sort of in the middle :) Yeah so better behavior would be to just load the sample(s) that were tri...
