Re: Native Instruments delays Massive X release
So it's obviously part of KOMPLETE 13. Do I get money back for the missing Massive X in KOMPLETE 12?

Re: Roland Cloud promo - 2 permanent instruments for $199
I LOVE synthesizers. But the reality is I get almost no work that requires them, and that includes the pro-bono projects Haha, exactly the same here. I have tons of soft synths... mainly bought years ago and simply followed the updates. But when it comes to work I'm always the orchestra guy or bras...

Re: Orchestral Tools / Glory Days (Big Band Horns)
@Saxer: In the video you can watch some examples of marcato and staccato combined in a multi to try to simulate a DooBaDooBa-8th line. It looks like you can even slur the (slightly longer) tongue-stop legato. I am not saying it sounds totally convincing, but it kind of sound good enough to me to ge...

Re: Orchestral Tools / Glory Days (Big Band Horns)
The sound is great! But I'm afraid for fluid swinging jazz lines (with off-beat 8ths tied to downbeat 8th) where the offbeats are slightly accented is hard to achieve. At least in the second video I can hear some of this taa-ta-taa-ta-taa instead off dooBadooBadoo. Jazz phrasing needs the possibilit...

Re: Strezov Afflatus Series
Sorry to hear about your experience with asocial media, Chris. I was looking forward to watch your video (I saw the first five minutes but had to leave that day) but finally missed it. I bought Afflatus anyway.

Re: Orchestral Tools: Metropolis Ark 1
Trailer Brass, Adventure Brass and Caspian work well for that stuff. Still unbeaten for my taste is LASS for all those tight shorts (not speaking about summer fashion here). Ark1 is great too. Not just for brass. Choirs are great, overall sound is really good. I resampled some of the Metropolis Mult...

Re: Omnisphere 2.5: Hardware Synth Integration and double voice architecture
I don't post crash reports here... and I don't think the software features are secrets in a public beta any more and after publishing at SuperBooth... but thanks for reminding me before I get into trouble :-) At least after playing with one hardware synth and Omni2.5 is seems to make sense to have d...

Re: Omnisphere 2.5: Hardware Synth Integration and double voice architecture
I tried a bit playing with the Roland SE02 and Omni 2.5 beta. I can't hook up the synth completely as it has mini stereo out and I need adaptor and about 8 meters cable to reach the interface input. There's also a USB audio out but no cable included. I have some USB mini cables (camera, Zoom), but i...

Re: Omnisphere 2.5: Hardware Synth Integration and double voice architecture
Ooh I'll give it some thought... my main issue is I don't really have anywhere to put it though. So jealous both of the controller and the space to put it in... I just got the Roland SE02 yesterday (I didn't even switch it on up to now as I have to finish an arrangement before). Actually the Omni 2...

In a video they explained that this are no membrane buttons. Some inductive thing... they said they wouldn't trust in membrane buttons.

Re: Performance Samples / Con Moto Cellos
There will be no second violins, so it's 400$ for all (if there isn't some package price coming up later). I had the opportunity to try the Cellos and I find the delay of 140,1 ms still very comfortable to play. CSS's 300 ms are definitely too much for my taste and the different delays for different...

Re: Omnisphere 2.5: Hardware Synth Integration and double voice architecture
What I don't understand is why would you want to control something emulating something that's emulating something? Because Omnisphere sounds better than the Legacy Collection MS20. The integration of the MS20iC controller to it's dedicated MS20 software is much better than simple midi learn. But I ...

Re: Omnisphere 2.5: Hardware Synth Integration and double voice architecture
Funny thing that each controller synth sounds like the connected synth itself (more or less) without audio connection. Omni acts like a ghost writer. More than I thought the haptic and the limitations makes the sound. Would make sense to use different control synths to create different kinds of soun...

Re: VSL Synchron Strings I
Didn't spend a lot of time with it but my first impressions: I like the sound but I don't like the legatos. The transitions feel more like a gap instead of a movement from one note to the other. My hope was to finally realize 'slow motion trills' (two note legato ostinatos) without machine gun effec...

Re: Coming November: VSL Synchron Strings I
I'm mostly interested how they deal with the sampled room reverb tails in their player. VSL is the only serious company (beside EastWest with "Play" ...cough cough... ) combining sample content and player development under one roof. For me the Vienna Instrument Pro 2 is the most advanced s...

Re: A New Addition to your Spitfire Symphonic Collection Coming Thursday !
Could be a lot... additional instruments (cimbassi, flugelhorns, euphoniums, Eb-clarinets), percussion section, choir, brass mutes, divisi string sections... Spitfire won't retire until everything is sampled in every room.

Re: Dorico
After the chords are implemented (very good!) these are the next things I'm missing most now:
- realtime recording
- drum and slash-note notation
I'm sure it will be the killer notation app in the close future.
